Benefits

The benefits offered by your employer are a critical comonent of your well-being and overall job satisfaction. At National City, you'll find a broad range of choices to fit the medical, dental, vision and long-term financial needs of you and your family.

Full-time and part-time employees working 35 hours or more per week are eligible for health and welfare benefits beginning the first month following your date of hire.

Part-time employees working between 20 and 35 hours a week will be eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days of service.

Health Choice Plans

These PPO plans include various options, allowing you to choose your deductible, network, coinsurance and the way you pay for office visits.

 

High-Deductible Health Plans

These plans provide basic PPO medical coverage and offer the opportunity to offset your high deductible costs through a Health Saving Account (HSA) funded through your tax-deductible contributions.

Health Savings Accounts (HSA)

PPO medical coverage with a high deductible is an excellent way of keeping health care costs low, but it's an even  smarter decision when you have an HSA. This is a tax-advantaged investment fund, owned and controlled by you, for the purpose of funding health care expenses not covered under the deductible.  HSA options vary, depending on the differences in the network and amount of cost sharing.

 

Dental


As part of your health care coverage from National City Mortgage, you have the option of choosing between basic and comprehensive dental plans. You can select the level of coverage that offers the best fit, based on your needs.

 

Vision Care Plans

You may participate in a voluntary, employee-paid plan that is designed to add value to your overall benefits package and provide assistance with vision care needs. The plan covers periodic eye exams and also includes discounts on prescription eyewear.

 

Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Account Plan Options


You may contribute up to $5,000 a year for your health care needs and $5,000 for dependent care needs, on a pre-tax basis, and receive reimbursement for eligible medical, dental, vision and dependent care expenses.

 

Life Insurance and Disability Coverage


As of your date of hire, you're eligible for basic, optional, spouse, child and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) life insurance coverage. Full-time employees who work 35 or more hours a week are also eligible for salary continuation for short-term disabilities after 90 days of service, and for long-term disability (LTD) coverage after one year of service.

 

Adoption Assistance

Eligible employees may be reimbursed up to $5,000 for adoption expenses. In addition, new parents may receive up to four weeks of paid time off for necessary appointments and to bond with the adopted child.

 

401(k) Plan, Savings and Investment Plan (SIP)

The National City Savings and Investment Plan encourages retirement savings by offering eligible employees a generous match. National City Mortgage will contribute $1.15 for every $1 you contribute to your retirement savings plan, from one to six percent of your eligible pay.  You'll become eligible for the company match beginning the first of the month following your one-year service anniversary, and you can participate on an unmatched basis after only 30 days of service if you are at least 21 years old.

 

Employee Stock Purchases Plan


Employees may purchase shares of National City common stock through payroll deductions, cash payments and reinvestment of dividents.

 

Employee Privilege Banking

Employees get an exclusive package of banking of banking benefits, including special pricing or discounts on checking, savings, mortgage, credit, investment and other products.

 

Transportation Management Reimbursement Program


You're able to set aside pre-tax dollars for a reimbursement of parking expenses incurred while commuting to and from work.

 

Tuition Reimbursement

National City will pay a portion of tuition expenses for eligible employees, for approved degree plans taught through colleges, universities and other institutions. We offer $4,000 maximum per year for full-time employees and a $1,200 maximum per year for part-time employees.  Full-time employees may also be reimbursed for appropriate graduate-level courses up to $10,000 per year.
