Home Buying 101
Step 2:Find and Purchase a Home
What you need to know
Before you begin looking at houses, it's a good idea to find a licensed real estate agent to assist in your search. Real estate agents can be a great source of information when buying a home. In addition to letting you know which homes are for sale, they can also answer questions about your sales contract, offers and counter-offers, acceptance and earnest money requirements, and closing on your home. Of course, should you choose not to work with an agent, we'll be here to help in every way we can.
What you need to doˇ
- Contact a real estate agent near you.
- Download our House Hunter Checklist* to keep track of the features and prices of the houses you visit.
- Ask your real estate agent to prepare a comparative market analysis of a home you like.
- Search our selection of
Real Estate Owned homes for additional property options.
- When making an offer to a seller, take into account the market value of the home, the condition of the home and the seller's circumstances.
